Capstone Presentation
My capstone presentation was fine. It wasn't hard, but it was a bit nerve-wracking. It was really boring - both standing around waiting and presenting, that is. I don't really care about my topic. I mean, it is important in general, but not to me personally. Mostly, I am just glad I didn't have to present to many people, because I don't enjoy talking about it.

Capstone Presentation Assets
I will have a tablecloth and my infographic poster on an easel. I will also have a copy of my latest essay draft. I might have a pointer type thing to point at them while presenting. That is all.

Infographic Poster (pt. 2)
My infographic basically just illustrated the problem that my capstone is about (career indecision) with statistics.
There wasn't really anything hard about it. It was all easy, just time-consuming.
I created the infographic in Winter Term. I changed the size and parts of the layout; in Winter Term, we were not allowed to choose the size of the infographics, and the size that we had to make it really did not fit the amount of information that I had to fill it with, so I cut the size pretty much in half.
The color scheme is really bothering me. If I were to use this poster in my presentation, I would need to spend time redoing the colors. Other than that, it is alright. I could probably stand to put more statistics - assuming I can find any.

Infographic
I just really need to rearrange the infographic poster I made in January Term. The required size was just too big for the few statistics I had to quote on the poster, so it will need to be made smaller. I also disliked my organization of the info, so I will change the layout up as well.

PSA Reflection
How did you address your Statement of Intent in your PSA?
I don't have a statement of intent... but my PSA was related to my capstone, if that is what was meant by the question.
Did you meet the other requirements?
Yes.
What would you do differently?
I would do a retake; my music sounded terrible.
What was the easiest and hardest part about producing your video?
The easiest part was... everything. The hardest part was finding the time to do it; it was simple but time-consuming drudgery.
Any other comments about creating your PSA?
We should have had more time. I have friends in other classes who are only just now creating their title sequences in AfterEffects. I really wanted to use AfterEffects, but 2 days of classtime (and 6 days total) is nowhere near long enough to learn a whole new software program - especially not one as sophisticated as AfterEffects. If Multimedia Capstone was my only class, I probably could have managed that, but it isn't, and my other classes - especially my actual Capstone class - are extremely time-consuming. Due to time constraints, I had to complete scrap everything but the text I had written on my story board. It was incredibly frustrating to know that if I had even had a week longer I might have been able to manage it.

PSA Intent
Comment on the article:
I don't think that the article is exceptionally useful for our purposes. It is very helpful for someone who actually intends to air the PSA and use it in a campaign, but we are, by necessity, doing Capstone projects targeting a niche problem. But then again, I don't think that all of our projects are suited for PSAs in general. Other than that, it is a decent article.
PSAs I liked:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=397IRqJRFpA&x-yt-ts=1421782837&x-yt-cl=84359240
I liked this PSA because it made its point quickly and without the usual melodrama that you see in anti-smoking PSAs. Instead of guilt-tripping, which is a stereotypical PSA tactic, it effectively uses grim humor to highlight its message.

I like this anti-drug driving PSA because it used an interesting, unusual perspective to get its message across. Moreover, it got its message across while completely avoiding any direct statement about or against drug driving. I thought it was clever, entertaining, thought-provoking, and highly effective. Considering that the ad went viral, I would say that the rest of the world agrees with me.

For my PSA:
- The key point I will emphasize is that career indecision is a big problem for teenagers.
- The visuals will be infographic-esque. The audio may be a voice over, but I might go with music. It depends. A song like Taylor Swift's "A Place in this World" would be appropriate, but it might just end up being distracting. Instrumental music would probably not be distracting, but it could be hard to find something that suits the topic/message. A voice over, on the other hand, could be very boring, since it would mostly just repeat the words on the screen.
- Mine will be a serious type of PSA (but not gravely serious).
- At the beginning, I will probably have a Wordle (or something similar) to show what a dizzying array of choices teenagers are faced with. Then I will move onto some statistics (illustrated with vector graphics). Lastly, I will make some statement to the effect of, "This is a big problem and something must be done about it."

Capstone Project Statement of Intent
My capstone topic is career indecision/career decision-making. The focus of it is on our "Path College and Career" class at RCHS. It is unclear what the end-product will be.
a) I don't really have any specific goals for my project, beyond simply getting it done and getting a decent grade on it. I don't know yet what the end-product will be, so it would be very difficult to set goals right now.
b) My project is important because I felt that the Path College and Career class was lacking, and I know that at least some of my peers agree with me. Until Path College and Career classes become useful to the students, they will remain - all things said and done - a waste of a year's worth of class-time.
c) My project does not fit in with my career objectives whatsoever. This is primarily because I remain undecided. I intend to go into some sort of Biology or Engineering, but I don't know which field, nor do I know which specific type of Biology or Engineering (except that it won't be human-related Biology and it definitely will not be Chemical Engineering). I won't be able to decide which field until I have the opportunity to get practical experience in Engineering: hopefully through an internship. So that decision is at a stalemate until the summer of 2016, at the very earliest.
d) My project definitely will not give back to society at large. Depending on my end-product, it might give back to RCHS in the form of a new curriculum for Path College and Career. At the very least, it will establish that there is a significant problem with the Path College and Career curriculum.
